Great chapter Sue. The visualization produced by the line... 'He took a corner a little sharply. Nezumi leaned toward him, her arms tightening around his waist though she didn't comment. It took him all of ten seconds to figure out that the faster he drove, the tighter Nezumi's arms gripped him, and the tighter her arms were, the closer her body pressed against his back'... caused my glasses to fog up. Boy I wish I could trade places with Nezumi!

Beautiful insight. Very nicely done. For a second i was confused and thought that this was happening in the near past, if that makes sense. Like a few days ago.. and I was like "how could Ryo's parents ground him? Isn't he adult enough yet?" hahahha. And then I hit my self across the face for being so stupid. hehe. This added a nice layer in the relationship of the two. Great job. Can't wait for more!--Aitu

Well my dear, you have yet again won me over. I have been an avid reader, and been slightly afraid to review (No logical reason behind this AT ALL) It's amazing really, how even in you heart you know that the story will turn out well, but you still hope. Nez will give him the time of day...the second she realizes what it is. Right? RIGHT?! I feel like smacking Ryo, I really do. ANd a barbell? A Barbell? A ring would have some vestiages of taste but a barbell... I'm surprised InuYasha didn't clice it off. Ah the pwoer of love... do make you do amazingly stupid things. Write on!

hi sue, well once again, you have a hit of a story! Although I love ALL of your stories, this one I feel is the best because to me a lot of the plot hits real life situations. How many times have we loved and trusted someone only to be hurt by them in the end. I wouldnt be surprised that Nez doesn't tell him to "go away" because really how can someone believe a person like Ryo. Mated or not, she knows him like a book so I dont blame her for not trusting him. thanks for another great Chapter. J

Wow. I love what DV wrote. But "ditto" would be kinda cheating, huh? Okay... I really like how this chapter shows the different sides of Ryo. Yeah, he knows he's charming and can pour it on when he wants to (ala his teasing of Nez and telling her that she kiss him if she wants LOL!). Obviously, these are the kind of moves that he's been using on the ladies all these years. I'm glad that Nez doesn't give in to that (good thing she knows him so well!), as I think it does cheapen their relationship. But then we see Ryo really thinking about this major event in their history and it shows just how much he cares and has always cared for her (breaking up with girls over Nez - big clue!). Nez isn't just the next conquest - there's so much more there. I think it's going to come down to how they can establish a new level of trust between them. Nez has always trusted Ryo as a friend, but trusting her heart to him is a whole different issue. I'm not sure that Ryo fully understands that yet. By the same token, Ryo hasn't yet been able to trust his vulnerable side to her yet. I can see it coming, though, and I'm loving the journey. :)

I got all choked up at Ryo's remorse at his thoughtlessness that got Nez hurt. He's finally having to think about more than the next bootie call and it's slow going for him. He hasn't had much practice at really thinking things through. When he considers each old thing that is reminded to him, things that he had said or done, the odds against him just keeps growing higher and more seemingly insurmountable...it's a good thing that he has his father's stubborness. Anyone else would have probably given up by now. But this is Nezumi/Deidre, his best friend...long time best friend...meaning as much to him, if not more than, his own twin. She's held his heart even when he didn't know it...and she kept it safe for him. Maybe thats why all the others never made an impression on him. His heart was given to a little girl on the playground so easily it went unnoticed. His confession that he'd broken up with more than one girl over his and Nez's friendship showed that, even back then, she was first in his mind and heart. Now he needs to find a way to make it up to her...for making her feel second-best as a girl. Maybe that's one of the reasons she accepted her role as 'one of the guys' so easily. She couldn't hang out with her cool silver-haired friend if she was gossiping and trying on make-up like most girls her age. Then when his eye started roving, she felt like she couldn't compete with that, so she'd stay his friend. -- o.O Gee...that was a little long-winded. LOL

I think he understands now what their shared history means to their relationship. I love that whole leaning over her and calling her by her name... Ha! He's trying so hard to let her come to him... *sigh*

And I'm Back. I keep getting the feeling you have plans for that piercing that we don't know about yet. Like there's going to be something more to it that just continuing comedy at Ryo's expense (though I do love the laughs at his expense).

Hmm, this is getting interesting as usual. My grats on keeping the story full of twists and turns. Nez seems like a pretty level headed woman... when Ryo's not around lol and even then she keeps things in perspective. I think her terms will be something reasonable should she decide to actually set terms at this point in time. *shrug* just my observation though. Again, good work and maybe you can mention a good fic or two to read? lol I saw you enjoy reading others' works, especially when you find a really good one.

I love the way that they interact! Everything seems so very natural and realistic! *sigh* I am curious. As of yet all the girls your characters have "ended up with" were virgins. I was wondering if a "mating" could happen if the other human partner wasn't a virgin? (Don't get me wrong - I personally like the way that you and your characters put a lot of value and thought into it before they take that step but I was wondering if it was a requirement even for the humans ...) Have fun this weekend!

Okay...So Ryo's come to his senses? I don't quite understand: Has he realized that he's like-liked her (sorry, couldn't help myself)for a long time? Or is it that he's doing the mature bit for once and doing the right thing in giving an honest relationship a go?
