This book begins the tales of a group of teenagers in the fictional city of Creston Hills. At the center of the story are four relationships that branch out into the others. The focus of the story are their romances, but there is much more life issus such as drug addiction, racial issues, and marital affairs to name a few. Rated MA for graphic language and sex. The first chapter begins with Troy and Porter, who are beginning a homosexual relationshi. The second chapter is about a Essie, who falls in love with her longtime boyfriend's brother. The third is about a couple trying to make a long distance relationship work. The fourth chapter is about the Reygas and focuses on Rose who is trying to break away from them. The subsequent chapters follow the first four story lines. These chapters do overlap and you need to read all of the them to catch what all the characters are doing throughout different times of the school year.
