im still firmly set on whatever side Evan is on. i didnt enjoy his self hatred. it was sad, but im a little less pissed with Valerie. i wont elaborate on why. but i will say that i almost vomited in my mouth at the thought of Marvin and Valerie 'sexing' EW EW EW EW EW EW EW EW EW EEEEWWWWWWWWWW! update soon. are you not updating on mondays any more? and will mikio have his own story? hes adorable and it would be interesting to see things through his eyes. afterall he's very different from the other characters because of his balance issues. what is life like for mikio? good chapter :-D

I'm hatign Marvin more by the chapter... I mean, honestly, it sounds like it'd be more than a little obvious that she wasn't having the time of her life, wouldn't it? But nooo, it's all the damn project... Seeign Evan's self-hatred, i'm a little less ticked off at him, but he still neeeds to get in there and apologize.

Those two are just so sad. They both need to confront the other and just appologize. I'm really excited to learn V's story. Evan already knows that she's supposed to be his. Now, he needs to find a way to show her how great it could be. It's not going to help him that he already has a reputation in her eyes for being a love 'em and leave 'em kind of guy. :sigh: I hope they get it together soon.

I just hope that Val and Evan will make up and not let there pride get in the way. Its not worth it especially when both of them are trying to concentrate on the case that lies ahead of them. I really cant wait to see what happens when their next meeting will occur. I mean there's going to be a lot of tension between them. Not good! Awesome chapter Sue and cant wait for the next one to come out! :)

ok ive already reviewed for the chapter anything but i like to go back and read what other ppl have to say in their reviews. i usually dont comment twice unless its like a p.s. i forgot to mention blah blah blah. Lemme say that anyone who reads Sueric's fanfiction is a respected peer because we al share a common love for her writing. however i have some discrepancies regarding ppls reaction to Evans behavior in the chapter titled "anything". i will pretend for a moment that this is not fanfiction but an actual situation and defend Evan by saying that he was in his right! First of all Valerie shouldnt have been shooting off at the mouth about any woman he was with unless said woman approached her in an improper manner. she was jealous and if she cant admit that to herself than thats her business. AND he made it very clear that he wanted her to stop her ranting and if you ask me he was being TOO nice about it. And regardless if he saw fit to make it known to valerie that the woman she was slandering was his MAMA, he approached her from the get go in a civilized 'non-Zel-roka' like manner. and he didn't make fun of her height challenged fiance. As for the issue of his blow job payment, thats seems entirely rhetorical but i'll elaborate on that anyway. Valerie had a choice between finally saying no to marvin or selling herself to sell marvin. She made her choice and she should choose her words more carefully. As i said in my initial review she could have promised 'anything' to the wrong person and been alot worse for wear than a few tears and broken pride. her pride was non-existent the moment she said yes to marvins marriage proposal and his pimp my research to Evan idea. She insulted his Mama and then thought to use him afterward. who cares if she tried to apologize, she's only sorry she jumped to conclusions and said those thing about his mother but shes not sorry she said them to him. had it been another woman i doubt she would be feeling sorry afterward. and lets not forget that the HYPOCRITE is supposed to be at her little sisters graduation. FEH! there will be no Evan bashing unless her deserves it. Evan is the male character version of Myself (attitude/personality wise) and my favorite above all Sue's characters and i am defending him. THIS IS A FLAME TO ALL EVAN DOUBTERS NOT TO SUERIC. Sue has created a very interesting character as she has done many times over. in our minds and hearts sueric's characters have gained identities and consciences and have in a way become real to us, this is the gift of a true writer. I would like to see where you take this one Sue its very promising. PS. IN MY OPINION EVAN DIDNT WANT THE BLOW JOB FROM THE START IT WAS A WAKE UP CALL AND HOPEFULLY FOR VALERIE IT WORKED. FEH! :-D

Oh gosh. I so saw this coming. I mean think of how it must have hurt evan all these years to be the one to have no lasting relationship. Everyone around him is mated and happy and he's not mated (excluding Gunnar and Mikio - love them both) He might have been cold to Valerie, but she had it coming. First she disses his mother without knowing the full situation and then she just tries to get on his good sides so that her wretched fiance could get funding for his research. Evan was bound to get tired of being used at some point. But Evan is also sort of at fault because he never tried to stop Valerie when she was making all those comments about his mother. And i bet his youkai is gonna be screaming at him. I absolutely love this story. My favorites were Defiance, Justification, Vendetta, and now Subterfuge. (Justification is my FAVORITE). Ahem - off the subject. Regarding timeline - does the story take place after Bas and Sydnie have their kids or before? Just wondering, because at the end of Phantasm there was that scene with the boiled lobster.... >< loved that. Wow i've never reviewed any one of your fics before (i was only allowed like an hour every week...maybe depending on hw...etc) so this is kind of long and unnecessarily wordy...but i have to make up for lost fics!! I think your writing is brill and i love every single one of your characters with all their faults and triumphs. I know you should never ask this to an author...but what's your favorite character? (or at least top 3) Cuz mine are Kichiro, Toga, Sesshoumaru (melt/glomp/sigh), and Evan. I think Evan is the only one of the third generation of purity that i absolutely adore! (haha and they're all guys too - Belle would be my fifth fave) Oh...does V know about demons? I so want to know about her past... So damn curious.... And MARVIN!!!! ARGHGHGHGHGHGH!!! Oh god i went out with a guy JUST LIKE HIM. IT's freaky the way you write him because it's just like him.... right down to his ignorant do gooder spirit and his marked callousness for your own TRUE feelings. I understand Val's feelings cuz she doesnt want to hurt him, but she needs him, yet she doesnt want to have him. I get it and i hope she makes up with Evan somehow. What he did was wrong - and i am disappointed but she did have it coming (no sick pun intended) as i said before. So, what's next, what's next, what's next? I love your fic and your frequent updates (cuz some fics take FOREVER to update...myself included...DONT READ MY FICS THEY ARE HORRIBLE AND I AM DELETING THEM!!) ahem another random thought. So g'bye!! ^^

Ummm.. wow.. I couldn't even comment after I read it. I had no idea Evan could be so cold. Granted Valerie was over the line with her comments - he had to know that she wouldn't know it was his mother. And how would Val know he had 2 distinct personalities either.. man.. can't wait to see how their next meeting goes...
