Congrats to the new graduate! It's a scary place out there. At least the chicken and dumplings were taken out of the oven before Gin got... distracted. The land that the lighthouse is on... i want to know what gin and cain have to say that requires everybody to be there. the first thing i thought of is that gin's pregnant. the second thing i thought of is an engagement party for evan, consitering he's been lying to everybody about marrying v haha! i'm so curious!! i hope jack makes it big so he can take care of himself and his family. maybe garret will also end up being a talented musician. i just love this story and i hope you update soon!! |

I originally wanted to guess that the news from Cain and Gin was that there was going to be a new baby... but then I remembered that they were going through a bit of a rough patch. I really don't know. If Jack's song makes it, it'll be amazing, and if the rest of the songs are equally as good... The family might be able to move somewhere where they would have good medical help closer by. And a house that's not falling apart. Jack might be a little peeved that Garrett gave Evan his 'little black book', but in the end it'll be a good thing. Keep up the good work, dark |

Hmm. . .I wonder what Cain and Gin have to say that's so important that all their children are required to be present. Cain seemed serious, but whatever it is Gin was cheerful enough to invite Valerie. Naturally, the first thing that comes to my mind is that they're having another baby? And I see, so that's what's been bothering Kaci Lea. Evan can certainly understand where she's coming from, then. It sucks when you're chasing after a sibling's shadow. I know that and Evan definitely does. Also, Evan certainly didn't see the questioning over the ring coming! Anyway, it was a great chapter and just the thing I needed to make me forget my aching back. Thank you! |

Aw! This chapter brought tears to me eyes and I am NOT an easy crier. This was meaningful and powerful and I loved every minute of it. Sorry I haven't been keeping up on reviewing! It's been crazy since my first year of college ended and I had to pack all my stuff to come home for the summer. Awwww, such a sweet chapter! I'm so happy to see Valerie and her relationship with her parents healing. Her conversation with her father honestly made me tear up a little bit. I'm patiently waiting for the day when Valerie realizes she can't live without Evan and that she really can't marry Marvin. Or Mervin, as Evan might call him. By the way, I love the way that Evan intentionally messes up his name every time he says it. He reminds me of Cain in that way, though I know Evan wouldn't be happy to hear me say that! |

damn it. i missed the last chapter again too. i hope v is a match for the transplant so her father can see v and evan get married haha! i absolutely loved this new chapter. i seriously had tears in my eyes throughout the whole thing. i'm so glad that v isn't bitter or angry anymore and i'm so glad that evan and her family will be there to love and support her from now on...especially evan lol. i can't believe evan just went out and bought 2 new guitars for garrett and v's dad and they played together!! that was so awesome and i hope there are more jam sessions with the three of them. this story is amazing and i seriously can't wait to see what happens after v and evan go back and how their relationship will bloom :) hope you update again soon and keep up the magnificent work! |

The Sounds of Silence was one of the first songs by Simon and Garfunkel that I learned to play on the Guitar. My younger sister and I used to play, and sing with our friends with all the harmony's ringing true. We were in choir together, and put all we learned to use. Most of our friends were musically inclined, so there were always guitars, music, and (of course) beer. I wonder if I was Evan in another life...I even had a friend a little like Dieter, he didn't operate in the same playground as the rest of us, but has always been Johnny on the spot where his kids were concerned. He didn't play an instrument, but he sang like an angel until 40 years of smoking ruined his voice. I think this is why I love this particular story so much, I read each chapter and in most of them, the association memories are wonderful. I've been playing guitar for 45 years, and I love it as much now as I did then. I just can't play it as well anymore. As the last few chapters were posted and V bonded a little more with her family, it's had me on the edge of tears, and when she relaxed enough to admit she loved them, it did make me cry. I love happy endings, and this part of the story has healed some very big wounds in V's heart and soul, for her parents too, I think. I love how this story comes to life in my mind. Thanks Sueric, your stories work better for me than the medications the Dr. prescribes. |

I can't wait for the dots to connect for Valerie to realize what she has with Evan. I think on some subconscious level, she knows already. She feels safe and secure with him. I look forward to seeing how the events play out and she realizes that Marvin hasn't been with her through a step of all of this. And she'll realize that Evan has been her stability, and she'll learn to trust him and their future together. As always, excellent chapter. I hope all is well with you and your family. Try not to cry too much at your son's graduation. My mom sobbed. Loudly. Hah...yeah. |
