I realize it's been a long time since I've commented or reviewed, but I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed reading Ch 144. Not all the stuff with Bugs; the part where Evan tells Valerie about her parents. He knew it was going to be hard for her to hear, hard for him to tell, and he did it knowing it was going to make them both feel awful. Yet, he still did it. Because it was right for her to know. Damn it. You just made me cry. I have been completely and utterly moved by this chapter(it might just be hormones) but living that pain was like being Valerie. I freaking cried hearing her life story. Her life. God, I'm just...kinda...out of it. Wonderful job. Sue, I have been away for at least 6 months or more and have gotten caught back up I was so sad when I didn't have another chapter to read. I was a bit upset that V seemed to bully her way on Evan's 'action'. He knew if she found out that he would never be able to leave her behind somewhere warm come on. That fight needed to happen maybe not the way it did but still they both had stuff they need to say and were too scared to say it. I listen to alot of audiobooks and was listening to "Our Husband" recently and it has made me think that it is possible that Marvin is already married and that is why so many things get cancelled. That or he is gay, really I know the research would be important but if he was really in love with this woman I think he would take more that a few hours at a time to see her. Or days without calling her, he isn't looking for funding 24/7 it isn't possible. I don't trust that guy. Chapter 144 - She does care it wouldn't have bothered her if she didn't. I think she would have blown it off on him checking up on her family and her dad being sick. Well, I haven't been updating because I wanted to see where this was going to go before I passed any kind of judgement and I think my doing so has kept me from saying some mean things about the characters. BUT, the past like 5 chapters have been amazing with this last one being the cutest and sweetest. I loved this last chapter. Great as always!!! Loved seeing Vlet her guard down again! This last chapter really me sad :(. I'm still a little miffed at Valerie but I understand where she is coming from. I haven't lived her life exactly but mine is pretty similar. Poor Evan. I would hate to be the bearer of such bad news!! *huggles Evan*. I enjoyed the extra chapters su!!! Sorry if I haven't reviewed in awhile!! I usually read your stories on my phone and for some reason MM logs me out by the time I finish a chapter so I have to log back in again to review and since I'm lazy this means less reviews from yours truly! ;). I was soo upset that media miner was down because I knew that this chapter was coming. Thank you for writing it perfectly (yes perfectly is just the word for it). I can't tell you how many times I've said the words "I don't care" with such a force I almost believed them myself. But I did care and so thank you for capturing that devastating emotion. Yeah, Sue, Dionne, Stevie and company are humming along in my head! Ooh, I'm so glad the narmal-ness of their relationship is back and FRIENDSHIP is what's keeping them together after the case! Okay, the coffee baskets were genius, even if V was too stubborn and/or proud to take them. It speeks much of V that she's so comfortable calling Evan at hell's bells hours of the day to gripe about the weather. I'm so happy most of the angst is hammered out--for now. There's still that little--HUGE!!!!--issue about Evan not sharing the info on her father and family...um, yeah, that may screw things up a bit; though, as with V's interference in his 'relief sessions' on his V-filled 'acation', I think, eventually, she'll get the heart of what he meant by going over her head by withholding the documents. Still, my heart aches for her when she sees the things--hope she's as steady as she says she is. And I wanna see what YOU saw in your head when you typed the part about 'babies raising babies' in the chapter. Did you SEE them, Sue? Did you have a picture to go with the sentences? If it's meant to be that V reconnects with her family, I'm hoping to know what started her parents on drugs. I hope they're both clean right now and that, by some miracle, the organ needed can be granted, if he's willing to do his body justice, this go 'round. I'm rambling...I've had sugar, today--a LOT of sugar--it messes with my typing. Tee hee hee! NEwho, see ya in the forum(s). Hope hubby's healing well! 'Young' in Evan's mind was probably 25, not 15. This will be difficult to be able to talk about, if/when he ever brings it up... but if he just has that file sitting around, Valerie's more likely to find it and question it herself... and that would not be pretty. That word stuck with me…I laughed my heart out! Eh, well, that’s Sesshy’s descendant fer ya… NEwho, onto the review! The apology had my cramped up. Imagine, folks, Evan Zelig pouring out his heart to you, all contrite and close and, for once, REAL—in your friggin’ lap of all places! For that space in time, I felt like I WAS V and, damn, I FELT that, Sue. GAWD, I just wanted to huggle BOTH of ‘em. But for V to then not only say that his apology meant something to her but that he was the only one who could hurt her, okay, my heart stopped, then stuttered to life again in a Rhumba! I am in fangirl heaven! If I don’t get back out of my friggin’ iced-over neighborhood again for a MONTH, rereading these last few chapters will keep me MORE that satisfied [though, I’m HOPING to get a ride, today, again **crosses fingers**]. Wonderful read! (okay, as of today, 2-2-11, the streets have been rained on and made walkable again! AND, I got my other coat, Sue! I CAN breathe in this one! HUZZAH!!!!!!!! LOL!
