I like Sesshomaru and Miroku's save about Kagome not being able to join the pack until after she learns Pack Law. This also gives them an additional distraction from her family, the need to learn how to join her other family. Though I do have a question about the pack law explained so far; wouldn't the next beta be the second strongest in the pack, Inuyasha's son when he has one, and not Miroku's son? Granted until Inuyasha has any children Miroku's son could be the second strongest, Hitomu just seemed too confident that he would be the next beta to the Inu no Taisho. I find it funny that they are more worried about Inuyasha's mood then Sesshomaru's. Inuyasha may be the Alpha of the small pack but Sesshomaru is the high Alpha or Alpha's Alpha. It was good to see Inuyasha and Kagome showing that they still know how the other reacts to things after all they have been through. I am rooting for Kagome to forgive Inuyasha for doubting her and Inuyasha relearning how to drop his barriers around Kagome. They managed to get together before they should be able to do it again. The end bit with Kagome's mother wanting her daughter to be normal was so true to what all mothers want for their daughters, to be normal and not have to worry about changing the world until they are older, but Kagome lost what remained of her childhood after she fell down the well. I am looking forward to what happens next.

i think miroku should teach her pack law, learn from the master. one can persuade (manipulate) to human/youkai by learning how to schmooze and appeal to the baser natures of the individual. hitomu may know and understand the art but miroku works magic (one fanfic i read made him 'kami of deception'). . . yasha needs to grow up a bit and realize that a sixteen year old is still a 'pup' but she is also a young woman who had great responsibility and power thrust upon her. he needs to learn the art of 'persuasion' too. . . mama's got more trust than i ever had, i have threatened to put a hit on my 15 year old's boyfriend if he compromised or hurt her in any way (he lived on a steep hill i could have just cut his brake lines -yes i know how, don't ask). she's 25 now and they have been happily married for 4 years (his life is still forfeit if he hurts her). . . kagome needs to watch the sandra dee movie 'if a man answers' (wonderful movie, the girl's mother suggests she adapt the strategies of a dog-trainer in the care and training of her husband). the strategies also work on children. . . wonderful chapter, i was worried that kagome and yasha's rift was getting too large. at least he made some effort without swallowing his shoes. ~ a delight as always, ginny

i appreciated the homage you paid to the ending of the manga. she was born to be with him. this chapter was a joy to read. poor inuyasha, having to swallow his pride and open up and admit his feelings to kagome and her mother. and poor kagome, not being able to stay mad when she wants to. they were both born to be with each other. thank you for another great chapter.

XD Oh dear Inuyasha, he's going to end up with a complex. Ha, I was right, it was Kagome's mom who mentioned that thing about school. :P I find it funny how he reacts if Kagome submits too much. He can't handle it and just crashes completely and goes into Hayou panic mode.

I just caught up - really liking this story! Inu seems to always be his own worse enemy, ne? How is Inu going to drop 500 years of anger and move on? I hope Kags family pulls through! It's bad enough we lost Rin and Kohaku! Not Souta too! And there's never enough Sesshy! Would've liked to hear that conversation! Well it's late - Thank you for sharing - looking forward to more!

Highly entertaining chapter! I really loved the line about the Olympics! Inuyasha has gotten himself into quite the mess now. I'm curious who's going to come out on top... The hanyou or the spiritualist... Sesshoumaru sounds like he has an interesting mate. Waiting for Kagome to lay the smack down on Inuyasha. Loved her angsty response to Sesshoumaru's comment on mates. Inu has got his work cut out for him. Make amends, reestablish his position and rank, and take down the bad guy. Hope Kags family makes it through... but I'm always one for a darker fic... go figure eh? Excellent work once again!

This is really good and usually I don´t even like the Kagome/Inuyasha pairing! So that should say you something. You wanna know why? Because everyone is in Character; Inuyasha is an Idiot but he really cares for his frieds (others make him cruel and stupid without reason). You didn´t make Kagome wimpy or stupid (or all powerful like a goddess), absolutely IC. The same goes for Miroku und Sango. You are one of the few who clearly sees, that Miroku is closer to Kagome than Sango ever was. He is sharp and insightful whereas Sango is a fighter and more restrained with other people. And thanks for not pairing Sesshoumaru with Rin, that would have been so gross. I don´t get why so many fans of him can´t see, how he really is and think it´s romantic that he cares for Rin. As if there is only one kind of love! The real Sesshoumaru would never mate with a human, dito (even if I´m a diehard Sess/Kag fan, I know that much). I´m convinced that Kohaku is the one for Rin just like in your story. I also love Hitomu, not so suprising because I´m totally in love with Miroku. They are fun, strong, intelligent and compassionate. I wish Rumiko had paired Kagome with him rather than Inu. Maybe Inu would have been better of with Sango, they are very similar. Generally, I like your own characters very much and that´s not normal for me. Very well done!

The 'fuck up Olympics'.......yep, he'd definately win all three places in that! *wickedly smirking* The head-banging-on-desk scene was great and just what the doctor ordered. I find Inu punishes himself mentally more severly than 100 face-planting 'sits' Kagome could dish out at him. Guilt is very prevolent in Inu's character and it's coming across extremely well. *giggling* Now, whether or not Kagome forgives him right away is another story. She needs to leave him dangling by a thread for at least another chapter, ne??? Congrats on the noms on FA.

Well at least Inuyasha realizes how badly he messed up. Inuyasha is going to have to work hard to convince Kagome that he does love her and want her for a mate after what he did. Kagome will eventually forgive him though, she always does. They were right in saying that she won't want to stay in the den but she will to protect her family. As long as she doesn't decide to "protect" the pack by leaving the den she should be safe for a while. I think if they can keep her occupied with something she can see as helpful, like training her powers, she won't notice the protection but when she realizes that they are doing it more to protect her then helping her get stronger she will be livid. I am anxiously awaiting the next chapter to see where you go next.
